From flood watches to tornado warnings, NOAA weather radios broadcast emergency weather information
direct from the National Weather Service 24 hours day, 7 days a week. In addition to severe weather information,
weather radios broadcast Emergency Alert System mortifications including hazardous materials releases,
earthquakes and Amber alerts.
Weather radios are a first line of defense. Early warning is critical to protecting lives.
Relying on outdoor warning sirens is not a adequate plan since they may not be heard
inside homes and businesses or at night when everyone is sleeping.
